The 2025-26 California commercial Dungeness crab season has been delayed statewide until at least January 1, 2026, due to a combination of factors including whale entanglements and high levels of domoic acid in some northern waters. Recreational crabbing will open on November 1, 2025, but with restrictions in certain areas.
