Shellfish may seem unapproachable, but trust us- they’re a breeze in the kitchen and don’t require five million ingredients to taste fantastic. In this recipe, we’re cookin’ up mussels, a sustainable seafood choice that’s sweet and tender. Flex your mussels ;) and impress your friends with our recipe here!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Mussels
  • 6 Cloves Garlic
  • 3 TBSP Salted butter
  • ½ Cup White wine (vermouth, sake, or even beer works here)
  • Bread

Instructions

Place mussels in a pan on medium heat.

Don’t be shy and add a heaping amount of garlic and a knob of butter to the top.

Top mussels with white wine, vermouth, or sake. The alcohol burns off and gives the briny, luscious broth a smooth finish and killer taste. If you don’t have it, that’s okay- leave it out or use a splash or water.

Let the mussels simmer with the pan covered. You know your mussels are done when their shells have popped open!

Grab a full baguette and dip too much bread in the drool-worthy sauce. Enjoy!
