Sand Dabs are a local delicacy so thank your lucky (sea)stars that they’re in our backyard of Monterey Bay. You can grab them year-round at our Harbor shop or any of our farmers’ market locations. Sand Dabs are full of flavor and easy to enjoy––try this recipe to believe it :).
Heat your skillet or pan (medium-high to high-heat) with 4 tbsp of your oil of choice and a 2 tbsp knob of butter
Salt and pepper your whole Sand Dabs (both sides)
Place the Sand Dabs into the skillet. If we don’t hear sizzling, we don’t want it! Throw in 4 cloves of minced garlic… or more, we won’t judge.
When the fish start to get crispy around the edges, give them a flip.
Voila! Fillet/debone your fish and enjoy :).
