Meeks' Honey began in 1971 when David Meeks purchased eleven dilapidated beehives from a neighbor in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Facing numerous problems and failing equipment was not a discouragement to David but a challenge. Out of that challenge grew 600 hives that David built into the base of his honey and pollination business. David loved the bees, their connection to the varying seasons, the people he met through the business, and the California locations he felt privileged to experience. David's death in 1991 left the business without its founder but his family continues to market honey while working with the beekeepers with whom David worked. Having participated in the moving of bees, they often still know the exact location of many of the bees since these were the same farms and orchards where David moved his bees.

Back in 1971, David Meeks took a leap of faith with some rundown beehives he found in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Rather than seeing a lost cause, he saw potential. Over the years, David nurtured those hives into a bustling operation, growing to 600 hives that not only produced honey but also supported local pollination. David was more than a beekeeper; he was a part of the community, sharing stories and experiences while tending his hives across the beautiful landscapes of California. When David passed away in 1991, his family stepped in to continue his work, maintaining relationships with the same beekeepers and revisiting familiar orchards. Meeks' Honey carries a bit of California's character in each jar. The honey is a medley of floral notes gathered from various blossoms across the region, making it perfect for adding a hint of sweetness to your favorite dishes. Whether you’re drizzling it over pancakes, stirring it into tea, or using it in baking, you're enjoying a product with deep roots and a heartfelt story.
